Open Wednesday for year nine and year ten students.

Finding work is a hot topic for all secondary school students. To draw attention to apprenticeable trades at cablex, the Gümligen site opened its doors again for year nine and year 10 students on 19 October 2016.

They attentively listened to the cablex apprentices, who presented the cablex apprenticeable trades of electrician and network electrician. Die Schüler durften auch selbst Hand anlegen:The students were also able to lend a helping hand: wiring up lighting on a panel, connecting a cable to a UCC plug for a network connection, splicing, soldering and stripping the insulation on fibre-optic and copper cables.

Karin Loosli, HR Business Partner, found out that stripping insulation is not as easy as it looks.

After the event, one participant immediately asked for a one-week internship as a network electrician. We are delighted that we have successfully demonstrated our apprenticeable trades to some students.
