The digital construction site.
cablex uses dbA² NG, which was specially developed in house, as a central data management platform for the digital construction site. The dbA² NG platform supports all the stakeholders of a construction project through the phases of the SIA 112 performance model, from phase 1 "Strategic planning" up to phase 6 "Operation". Here, the platform provides a functional, logically-structured and easy-to-use user interface for entering and processing project data. Common import and export formats are available for automated data entry or retrieval.
While passing through the phases of the service model, the project data is constantly augmented in the form of a "digital twin" in dbA² NG. During the project management phase (phase 3), a dense 3D model of the structure is developed that contains enough information to generate the specification for the tendering phase (phase 4) (BIM2LV).
After the contract is awarded, the specification generated in phase 4 is adopted in its entirety in the realisation phase (phase 5) and processed further in detailed engineering. This results in work packages that are equipped with resources for the implementation. The personnel can call up the respective work packages in the construction site app and process them. By means of the integrated document management system, all documents from the construction process can be linked with the relevant model part and are then retrievable. Earlier versions are labelled and archived in the history. All data is available for the management phase (phase 6) and for life-cycle management.
For its digital hub, or common data environment (CDE), cablex relies on dbA². The tailor-made dbA² application supports the project team when planning project operations by providing them with a functional, logically structured and simple-to-operate interface for capturing and processing spatial, technical and construction process-related data. Interfaces to Excel and EPLAN are available for automated data capture. Data from different CAD systems as well as third-party tools can be merged, resulting in a digital depiction of an entire technical system.
To guarantee the integrity of the data that is entered or imported, it is only accepted once it has been successfully validated and confirmed. Moreover, the application offers functionality for preparing the data for other systems (e.g. SAP or FRACAS).
