2024 – Foundation of cablex Germany GmbH.

cablex is also growing outside Switzerland. cablex Germany GmbH successfully launches into the German market with a major customer project. As a general contractor, cablex Germany GmbH offers comprehensive solutions in optical fibre development and has positioned itself as a central point of contact for all network construction matters.

2020 - Portfolio expansion: e-mobility.

cablex is expanding its transport technology portfolio to include e-mobility and now offers customised energy management systems, billing systems and digitalisation solutions.

2020 - Merger of cablex & Swisscom Customer Field Service (CFS).

With the merger of cablex and Swisscom CFS, and theassociated takeover of 1000 employees, cablex has reached a further milestone in the expansion of its expertise and its clout.

2019 - Portfolio expansion: transport technology.

cablex is expanding its portfolio to include the field of transport technology and offers services relating to road and rail transport as well as civil work.

2018 - Takeover of Stierli Strassenbau AG.

cablex takes over the equipment and employees of Stierli Strassenbau AG, Unterentfelden,, thus further strengthening its expertise in civil work.

2017 - Takeover of Meier AG.

cablex takes over the equipment and employees of Meier AG, line construction nd public works, Wilen/SZ Cable construction and public works activities are becoming increasingly important.

2016 - Handover of the Ceneri Base Tunnel.

The Ceneri Base Tunnel project was successfully completed and handed over to the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) on time.

2014 to 2010

2014 - Training of the first EFZ network electricians focussing on telecommunications.

cablex is fighting the shortage of skilled workers and is making an active contribution to the promotion of young talent by training network electricians with Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) with a focus on telecommunications.

2014 - Foundation of Swiss Network Infrastructure Association (SNiv).

Together with leading companies from the network infrastructure sector, cablex founds SNiv - the Swiss Network Infrastructure Association for Communication, Energy, Transport and ICT. The aim is to create fair working conditions for all and to strengthen the apprenticeship of network electricians.

2013 – Ceneri Base Tunnel order.

Ceneri Base Tunnel. As consortium head, cablex wins the "Rail technology and general coordination" order worth CHF 138 million for the Ceneri Base Tunnel.

2012 - Partnership with Sunrise.

cablex becomes a strategic partner of Sunrise for the service sector.

2012 - Network modernisation order upc.

cablex wins the network modernisation contract (NUP) in Ticino from upc.

2011 - Mobile and business customer orders.

cablex wins major mobile orders from Orange and business customer orders from Sunrise.

2011 - Order for the Zurich cross-city line.

cablex wins the major railway technology contract for the Zurich cross-city link and supports SBB in its realisation.

2010 to 2002

2010 - Training in the area of fibre to the home (FTTH).

cablex is combating the shortage of skilled labour and is training 45 key personnel throughout Switzerland in the FTTH business domain.

2009 - Partnership agreement with Cablecom.

cablex and Cablecom conclude a partnership agreement for the Ticino region.

2008 - first FTTH projects, optical fibre enters the home.

cablex implements its first fibre to the home (FTTH) projects.

2007 – Cooperation agreement with Cablecom.

cablex concludes a cooperation agreement with Cablecom and takes over part of its network construction department.

2006 - Portfolio expansion: development of services for transport.

cablex expands its portfolio to include the transport sector with road and rail transport services.

2006 - Portfolio expansion: work in the Energy sector.

The expansion of the range of offers to include the energy sector (low and medium voltage) represents a further milestone.

2005 - Portfolio expansion: cable TV.

cablex expands its portfolio to include cable television (CATV).

2004 - Portfolio expansion: antenna construction and network construction indoors.

cablex is expanding its range to include the areas antenna and indoor network construction.

2002 - ISO certification.

cablex is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001.

2001 - Foundation of a public limited company.

cablex is established as an independent public limited company on 1. October. The company originated from the network construction department of Swisscom, Swisscom Fixnet Ltd, and is now its main supplier.
