New tunnel lighting requires night work.

The four Birchi, Lüsslingen, Spitalhof and Witi tunnels on the A5 between Lengnau and Luterbach are being renewed. The FEDRO awarded the contract for the renewal of the tunnel lighting to cablex. Urs Waldner and his team are working flat out.

New tunnel lighting requires night work.

cablex is installing the new lighting in four tunnels on the A5 for its client, the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). This includes installing the cable route, laying the supply lines from the control centre to the road area as well as installing and connecting the new lighting, the optical guidance system (cat's eyes on the carriageway) and the emergency fire lighting. The latter will now only be installed on the side offering access to the escape route. This will help people to safely find their way to the escape route in the event of a fire.

The cablex contract essentially comprises:

Lighting

  • Installation and connection of adaptation, drive-through, fire emergency, escape route and service duct lighting as well as the optical guidance system.

Signalling

  • Supply, installation, cabling, connection and dismantling of the green flashing and bar lights at the emergency exits.
  • Monitoring systems
  • Communication and control technology
  • Cable systems
  • Various dismantling of existing installations
