Our experienced cablex technicians go about their work with a great deal of commitment and passion to meet the client's extremely high demands. The guidelines of the City of Lucerne's energy supplier run to over 240 pages, and the replacement of 63,000 meters is planned by 2027.

These new smart electricity meters must be installed precisely and look flawless. The same applies to water and gas meters, which are also included in the service package. Perfection is also required when installing the cabling, communication components (gateways) and aluminium pipes. Our teams have a smooth grasp of the range of requirements. Moreover, our technicians are characterised by their extensive expertise with regard to the work to be carried out and their proximity to the customer.

Precision is required – every move is perfect.

Marcel Koch, Head of Metering Services at ewl energie wasser luzern, praised working with our teams:

In cablex, we have found a reliable partner to help us manage the smart meter rollout. The installers carry out the assigned work precisely and with great motivation.

Why smart electricity, water and gas meters?

Electricity consumption can be read quickly and digitally by both the energy supplier and the consumer without the annual deployment of meter reading teams. Consumers can see exactly how much electricity they consume down to every quarter of an hour. This makes it easy to identify unnecessary power guzzlers and optimise electricity consumption in the household.

The Energy Strategy 2050 stipulates that at least 80 per cent of all households and companies in an electricity supplier's grid area must be equipped with smart metering systems by the end of 2027. The cablex teams support energy suppliers throughout Switzerland with the installation work. Thanks to their many years of experience in dealing with technology and demanding customers, they quickly familiarise themselves with the individual requirement profiles.

Thank you to the teams in Lucerne for the insight into their challenging field of activity and the intelligent world of smart metering systems.
