Certified Electrician (VET).

As a Certified Electrician with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET), you install the network behind the sockets and ensure seamless operation, whether that's installations and connections for electricity, telephony, internet and television, or for intelligent, energy-efficient building automations.

During your four-year apprenticeship, you install electrical supply networks with all of the associated devices and systems in commercial and industrial buildings. You also take on installations of more complex networks and systems and learn to read and implement technical and schematic plans. You test and check the functionality, fix faults where necessary and take care of maintenance.

School leaving certificate: You have completed compulsory education at the lower secondary level with very good results or at the upper secondary level with good results. Your strengths lie in geometry, mathematics and physics. You can communicate in German without any problems.
Technical skills: You have a flair for technical and logical relationships. Electrical and electronic issues arouse your ambition.
Manual skills: Thanks to your manual dexterity and fine motor skills, you complete manual work quickly and deftly.
Weatherproof: Wind and weather don't knock you down easily and you have plenty of energy and enthusiasm for outdoor work.
Conscientious: You work with concentration and precision. Even with the safety precautions, you must always remember that you work with electricity, and this requires responsible behaviour.
Versatile: You like to be out and about – be it in commercial, office and industrial facilities, power plants or on construction sites. Thanks to your pleasant manner, you get along with everyone without any problems.
Good perception of colours: You are not colour blind and can accurately distinguish the cable colours.
