Starting a career not only brings new opportunities and prospects, but also responsibility. Safety is a key issue, particularly in network construction and when working with electricity. At cablex, the protection of our apprentices is our top priority. That is why we organise annual safety training courses, which are specially tailored to the requirements of the apprenticeship programme.
Dangerous work is generally prohibited for young people under the age of 18. All work that, by its nature or due to the circumstances in which it is carried out, may jeopardise the health, apprenticeship and safety of young people, as well as their physical and mental development, is considered dangerous.
However, some of these tasks are indispensable in the apprenticeships for Network Electricians with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET), Assembly Electricians (VET) and Electricians with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET), as they are part of the job. Attachment 2 is part of the training ordinance (BiVo) for our apprenticeships and lists hazardous work and the necessary accompanying measures for the safety and health protection of apprentices. To ensure that our apprentices can work safely, we provide them with the necessary knowledge and practise the most important protection measures.

A safe start to working life.
Praxis statt graue Theorie.
The safety training courses cover all relevant topics – from working under physical strain and handling hazardous work equipment to activities in unsecured working environments or oxygen-reduced surroundings.
We deliberately focus on the "knowledge through experience" approach: little theory, but lots of practice. Because images, experiences and feelings are more memorable than dry words. The vocational training team and the safety team at cablex work hand in hand and organise the training courses in an experience-oriented way. In this way, they manage to create real moments of realisation for apprentices.
In German-speaking Switzerland, safety training is integrated directly into the First Steps week for our new apprentices. In French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino, the training courses are held jointly for new apprentices and those in the higher apprenticeship years in the respective regions. Every year there is a refresher course for all apprentices at cablex.
