We congratulate eleven Network Electricians with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) on successfully completing their apprenticeship. The apprenticeship graduates come from all over Switzerland and impressively demonstrate how versatile and future-proof an apprenticeship at cablex is.
In summer 2025, eleven apprentices will successfully complete their training as Network Electricians with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) at cablex. Over the past three years, they have acquired specialist knowledge, craftsmanship and customer orientation – skills that will be in demand in the telecommunications of tomorrow.
The apprenticeship graduates come from all three language regions of Switzerland:
After a three-year apprenticeship, most of the apprentices go on to work for cablex. So far, eight people have been offered permanent positions. We are delighted that the expertise acquired will remain within cablex.
Our new specialists have:
Four of our apprenticeship graduates this year completed their training as part of Option 3 – a model for committed employees without a Federal Diploma or with a qualification that is not recognised in Switzerland, but with plenty of practical experience.
Apprenticeship graduates with Option 3 complete a fully-fledged, three-year VET apprenticeship and receive the salary of a fitter. The result: an ideal combination of professional experience and expertise. Many of them later become involved as vocational trainers or examination experts at – a strong sign of active development at cablex.
Linus and Jerko tell us briefly about how they experienced their apprenticeships as VET network electricians (option 3).
We would like to congratulate all apprenticeship graduates – and thank everyone who has accompanied them on their three-year journey.
CEO Roger Keller also congratulates the successful apprentices:
"An apprenticeship at cablex is more than just training – it is an entry into a working environment that helps people progress and connects our society. The eleven successful apprenticeship graduates from all parts of Switzerland show what is possible when commitment meets good framework conditions. You have achieved a lot – and will continue to achieve a lot. I am delighted that many of you are staying with cablex – together we will define the next chapters. Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible."
The new training plan from the reform of the basic vocational training programme for network electricians (VET) came into force in spring 2023. Under the leadership of cablex, these innovations are being actively supported in order to continue to make training practical, skills-orientated and future-proof.
A key aim of the 2023 network electrician reform was to strengthen and balance out the three key areas of energy, telecommunications and overhead lines on an equal footing
At the same time, there is a clear focus on strengthening practical training: The apprentices are prepared even more specifically for the demands of everyday working life – with modern methods and a clear reference to reality on the construction site.
This step will ensure that the apprenticeship programme remains at the cutting edge and that cablex continues to be a leading training company in the telecommunications sector. We are already looking forward to welcoming the new apprentices in August – 13 Network Electricians with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and one Assembly Electrician with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
