Milestones in the 20-year history.

After starting in 2001, in 2005 the company started taking on planning and construction projects for market players other than Swisscom for the first time. The focus: development of the cable television (CATV) division. The first "Fibre to the Home" projects were then implemented in 2008, and this brought optical fibre technology right into the homes of customers. In 2014, cablex was able to train its first apprentice network electricians (EFZ) with a focus on telecommunications. An apprenticeship that has been shaped significantly by cablex and which is of immense importance for the telecommunications industry. In 2016, work began on the largest project ever undertaken by cablex outside of the network construction area - the overall coordination of the Ceneri Base Tunnel project, which was successfully completed in 2020. And finally, in 2020, cablex was able to take over 1000 superbly trained service technicians from Swisscom, who were successfully integrated into the company.

cablex today and tomorrow.

With over 2500 highly trained employees in the areas of planning, engineering, construction and maintenance/service, cablex is perfectly equipped to meet the challenges of the future. The company drives digitisation projects forward together with customers. In doing so, cablex relies on innovative technologies such as Augmented and Virtual Reality, in order to establish the "Construction Site 4.0". Daniel Binzegger, CEO of cablex, is proud of the continuous growth and development that the company has achieved over the last 20 years. Regarding the anniversary, he said: "We live our values every day, remain down-to-earth and always keep our customers' needs in focus. So that we can be connected for the future together."

Storm, hail, snow and blistering heat – they defy them all. We are talking about the inconspicuous heroes of Swiss telecommunications: wooden masts that keep the network running even in the most remote regions.
