Everything as a Service (XaaS).

Everything as a Service, or XaaS (and sometimes EaaS) for short, refers to the approach of providing and consuming "everything" as a service. This means that something is procured and its use paid for without the user having to produce or own the service themselves. The advantages are efficient use of services as well as the chance for a company to focus on its own areas of competence.

What does that mean in relation to cablex?

cablex has highly trained employees throughout Switzerland working in electrics, network construction, ICT and services. That means we are able to offer a broad platform. The benefit for our customers here is that they can focus on their value creation. We make sure that expertise and services are available as standard from St. Gallen to Geneva and from Bern to Chiasso. Without companies like cablex, this would be an almost insurmountable task for companies focused, for example, on IT solutions. They would either have to install the hardware themselves on site or train countless small, local partner firms to provide the service to them.

What are the advantages for B2B customers?

There are multiple benefits for customers alongside the aforementioned focus. They enjoy transparency at all times with regard to costs and order processing thanks to end-to-end digitised processes and status notification. Our 24/7 service and localised warehouse and logistics locations mean the required materials or replacement parts are available at very short notice.

Partnership with viboo.

Further to the successful ongoing collaboration in the area of intelligent heating control with the start-up ECCO2, cablex has launched another collaboration in the field of smart energy, this time with viboo AG.

According to the manufacturer, the viboo cloud makes it possible to reduce heating costs and the relevant carbon footprint by 20 to 40 per cent using intelligent thermostats. These thermostats use predictive algorithms, which predict future thermal conditions in the premises by learning from current performance. Based on these findings, heating outputs are kept at the right level. Energy consumption is optimised, meaning no energy is wasted.

Julie Vienne, Technical Operations Engineer at viboo AG, commented on the collaboration with cablex:

The specialists at cablex carried out the network installation with great expertise. We are delighted to count cablex among our trustworthy and competent partners and to be optimising the heating requirements of buildings together.

Our tasks for viboo.

We were able to complete the pilot project with viboo by the end of 2023. In an office building in Winterthur, the team of cablex technicians installed 70 thermostats, multiple access points, and CO2 and noise sensors and integrated them into the backend platform. The old thermostats were replaced with smart models in a matter of minutes and connected with the viboo cloud. Multiple access points ensure that the thermostats are able to communicate their data to the cloud. CO2 and noise sensors were also installed. They measure the thermal behaviour of each room and keep the rooms at the right comfort level.

This reference is another great example of how cablex is able to work with "smart energy" to contribute to the energy transformation and help our customers achieve their sustainability goals.
