That's where our Field Services and Wireless teams come in. They have already been working at the festival site on behalf of Swisscom Broadcast weeks before the event weekend to install optical fibre and copper connections as well as switches and access points.
A total of around 12 kilometres of optical fibre cable and 2.5 to 3 kilometres of copper cable will be laid. Four mobile radio containers with 4G and 5G technology will also be in use. The competitions in Mollis will be broadcast live for over 20 hours by SRF on TV, radio and online, with an estimated one million people expected to watch the event on TV.

This is the first time that the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival is taking place in Glarus, and it's the third major event in Switzerland this year after the ESC in Basel and the UEFA Women's Euro. The dimensions of this huge event are gigantic and unprecedented this time. To reveal just a few facts:
- Arena with a circumference of 850 metres, a total area of 49,000 square metres, and space for 56,500 visitors – the largest temporary arena in the world, according to the organising committee
- Budget: 35 to 40 million francs
- 10 marquees, 696 toilets, 120 showers
- Beer consumption: around 270,000 litres, sausage consumption: approx. 450,000
- Temple of gifts worth 1 million francs
- Winning bull named ZIBU, born on 6 November 2021
It won't be long before this year's Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival is once again consigned to history for the next three years, with all installations having to be dismantled. Our cablex team will be on hand again to help with their usual dedication and passion.
